September 2014-May 2015

With the start of school and Fall of 2014, life has just flown by!  Here it is the beginning of May 2015 and I've got lots of blog updating to do!  This will mostly be a photo journal with some highlights from the past few months.

September 2014
I left off at my last blog post just before the girls birthday party!  Shiloh, McKenzie & McKinley had celebrated their birthdays together with one big Frozen themed bash at Chuck-E-Cheeses!  We all had such a great time, that still in March they are talking about how much they loved their party.

October 2014
In October, Shiloh turned 5!!  I cannot believe that she starts Kindergarten in a year!  I am so nervous about sending her to school 5 days a week.  I feel like I am going to miss her terribly because I've never been away from her for that much consistent time.  She is beyond ecstatic about starting, so I am trying to stay completely positive in front of her. :)

This is a good example of a big difference between McKenzie & McKinley
(McKinley is a little more reserved and focuses a little more; McKenzie puts all of the dots in the right place then goes crazy with the extra :))

Aurora's First Birthday Party (5/2/15)

Milestones:
Aurora:
5 months:
- Aurora had a HUGE sleep regression right at the end of 4 months.  She went from sleeping 4-8 hours a night to no more than 4 at a time.
- she sat up by herself just a few days before she turned 5 months (by sitting up, it's this little lounge sitting where she leans on her arm)
- gets up on all fours and rocks back and fourth
- she loves smiling at people and attention from anyone

6 months:
- still waking up about every 3-4 hours at night
- right at the end of 6 months she started crawling
- the next day she sat up the right way by herself
- can push herself up from the crawling position to the sitting position

7 months:
- at the very beginning of 7 months (just 2 days after she started crawling), she started pulling up
- the VERY NEXT day after pulling up for the first time, she took a step while holding onto the couch
- she began pulling up on everything and gained quite a few bruises from pulling up on things that weren't quite stable enough

8 months:
- still waking up about every 3-4 hours at night
- VERY attached to mommy (now she's quite difficult for anyone that isn't mommy)
- she ADORES her sisters, if they try to interact with her she will laugh and smile at them to try to keep their attention (Shiloh used to be the only one trying to play with Aurora consistently, but now the twins try also)
- learned to test things for pulling up, now she will put her hand on it and make sure that when she pulls up it won't fall over
- she began transferring from objects while standing (from the couch to one of her sisters in the middle of the room)
- took her very first step right at the end of 8 months

9 months:
- wakes every 3-4 hours at night
- extremely attached to mommy
- absolutely adores her sisters and tries to keep up with them
- with just a few days left of being 9 months, she woke up from her afternoon nap and decided that walking was her preferred method of getting around
- WE HAVE A LITTLE TODDLER

10 months:
- loves to play peek-a-boo with blankets/towels
- has gotten even more stable and can move quickly
- can say "mama, dada" & "all done"
- doesn't seem very interested in sign language; she just yells when I show her the sign of whatever it is she wants
- loves to give "snuggles" to those she loves
- wakes 1-3 times a night
- loves eating finger foods, so far she likes most things she eats except bread... she isn't a big fan of that
- if someone in our family lays on the ground, she will run over and give them a hug to cheer them up
- when any of her sisters are crying, she tries to cheer them up with a hug or a giggle
- still EXTREMELY attached to mommy

11 months:
- she stayed in the church nursery the WHOLE time without them having to call me out of the service
- Marc also got her down one evening (usually she will scream until I can be there)
- walking really well
- says mama, dada, all done
- still loves food (doesn't really like bread, but likes most other things)

12 months:
- she LOVES bath time
- tries to run to keep up with sisters
- she tries to follow her big sisters around and play with them
- loves to give kisses and cuddles
- still pretty attached to mommy, but WILL TAKE A BOTTLE!!!  (next step is trying baby sitters)
- says mama, dada, all done, doggie, kisses, hi, bye

Shiloh (5 1/2):
- can read all by herself!!!
- can do addition and subtraction
- recognizes the plus sign and the minus sign
- can count to 100
- LOVES to play rhyming games
- knows our address and mommy's phone number
- can pick up aurora and help Mommy out a LOT!!!
- unloads the dishwasher all by herself

McKenzie (3 1/2):
- can write an M
- can spell her name
- LOVES to do crafts
- enjoys playing with scissors (even cut her own hair)
- can help unload the utensils from the dishwasher
- can draw a circle, working on a square and triangle
- enjoys starting a puzzle (then she'll usually try to play)
- still pretty wiggly at story time, but can sit through books

McKinley (3 1/2):
- can write an M
- we are still working on spelling her name (ALMOST there)
- LOVES craft time
- enjoys playing with scissors
- can help unload the utensils from the dishwasher
- can draw a circle, working on a square and triangle
- enjoys puzzles with mommy
